Warfare Wednesday

"I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— 2for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness." I Timothy 2:1,2

Well, yesterday I promised something new today, and here it is. Warfare Wednesday. It occurred to me a few weeks back that it's one thing to say that we're going to pray for someone or something, and something completely different to actually do some praying. So my Wednesday posts are going to be shorter, sweeter, and more concise, and really, they are going to serve as a reminder. A reminder to myself, and a reminder to anyone reading here, that today is the day to pray. Some weeks I'll be reminding you to pray for governmental leaders, some weeks it will be a reminder to pray for a specific nation or a people group. Some weeks, we'll focus on praying for our schools and universities.

Specifically, today is the day to pray for President Obama. Today is the day to pray for Mrs. Obama and the Obama children. Today is the day to pray for your Senate and House leaders. Today is the day to pray for the Supreme Court Justices, and Today is the day to pray for your state government. With the devil coming at us from every side these days, we need to stop talking about prayer and just do it! Our leaders need our prayers now more than ever. It truly is an amazing to think that our country has elected an African-American president. What a blessing to look back at our not-to-distant history and see how far we've come! But there is so much more healing to be done, electing one man is not going to erase hatred overnight, and I have no doubt that the President and his beautiful family will be the targets of many angry persons e-mails, tirades or letters.

If you want to get specific and get in-depth with the President, click on over to The Presidential Prayer Team for updates and an opportunity to sign up for daily e-mails and reminders. We have an opportunity to intercede on behalf of our elected leaders, and petition God for them. Let's grab this opportunity and run with it. Together, we can affect the change that this country so desperately needs.

I love this idea, and love your commitment to pray for our leaders. I signed up at the site you referenced and will definitely be joining you in this!

Cool Rina! I think it's so important, and so often we think to ourselves "we should pray about this," but then don't follow through. Making it a weekly thing will be an excellent reminder for me.
