The Word Is True!

"For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does. The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love." Psalm 33:4-5

I love that last part of this verse. The earth is full of his unfailing love. God's love never fails! Just look at the wonders of this earth, and all he gave to us! The science world is abuzz right now because there is a green comet coming close enough to the earth to see. God created that comet, and sent it in this direction, so that among the beautiful field of stars and planets, man can see this beautiful green comet with the naked eye. Look at the snow on the ground. We've had record snow this year, and while I am the person who loathes winter and snow, do you know what that snow is doing? It's insulating the ground underneath. When the snow finally does melt, the ground will warm faster this year and be ready to receive seeds much sooner than normal, because the ground won't be all frozen and hard underneath! I can't wait to get my hands in the dirt and see that version of God's Love.

God loves righteousness and justice. That reminds me that there is injustice and unrighteousness in the world today. There are people in need, so many people in need, and no one is helping them. Everyone is so busy looking at a slow economy and thinking about themselves. What about everyone else? I had another dream last night about driving through an affluent community and then all the sudden, right in the middle of it was a sort of shanty town. People were living in a courtyard, in fields of tarps and plastic. As I was riding in a limo right through this area, I was filled with a profound sadness and a need to help these people. This is not the first time I've had a dream like this, which tells me that there are people in need right now, even where we don't expect to see them. We need to open our eyes and see the injustices that are in front of us, we need to bring righteousness back, and stop worrying about ourselves so much. God will take care of us! The Bible tells us that he will, and the verse above says that the Bible is true, so I choose to believe that.

"You care for the land and water it;
you enrich it abundantly.
The streams of God are filled with water
to provide the people with grain,
for so you have ordained it.

10 You drench its furrows
and level its ridges;
you soften it with showers
and bless its crops.

11 You crown the year with your bounty,
and your carts overflow with abundance.

12 The grasslands of the desert overflow;
the hills are clothed with gladness.

13 The meadows are covered with flocks
and the valleys are mantled with grain;
they shout for joy and sing." Psalm 65:9-13
