Lord, You Are Good- All The Time!

I woke up singing this one this morning- and this particular version. :) It's a great day for our family, as this morning we are welcoming a new little niece or nephew to the family- we're all just waiting now for news, and praying for strength and energy for Mom.

"And on that day they offered great sacrifices, rejoicing because God had given them great joy. The women and children also rejoiced. The sound of rejoicing in Jerusalem could be heard far away." Nehemiah 12:43

In the midst of some pretty major struggles for our whole extended family, what a blessing it is to have such a joyful occasion to celebrate! God is so good to give our family something joyful to focus on- something wonderful to take our minds and our thoughts off the troubles and the problems, and allow us an opportunity to rejoice in the newness and wonder of a precious new child.

And while we are waiting this morning for news, and are praying for a smooth delivery, I also get to focus on my precious babes- who are hardly babes. Every morning as of late, I've been waking, eager to get on with my day, because my day begins by spending time with God, followed by spending time with my own two wonderful children. And what could be better than that?

I guess this morning, I just have to say that no matter what troubles may come our way, there is always something wonderful to concentrate our attention on- rather than the struggles. We can always turn our attention to God, and to His joy, which is our never ending source of strength.

"1 God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.

2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,

3 though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.
Selah " Psalm 46:1-3

How can I fear anything with words like that? Disaster could be looming around every corner- and in the midst of it all, there is so much joy bubbling up from the spring of life. God is so awesome.
