Praying For Our Children

"For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding."

This is something that I could probably talk about every day, and it still wouldn't be enough. It's just so important, praying for our children. And not just praying for our children, but talking to them about God as moments come up. And then you can pray for more of those moments and opportunities. I pray for my daughter every day as she walks out the door for school, smiling as she goes. I pray for my son as I walk away from his preschool after dropping him off. I pray for both of them at night when I tuck them in, and I pray for them at night when I tuck myself in. I just so want them to know joy each and every day of their lives. Especially while they're children. I just want them to enjoy life, and enjoy being children- before they really need to begin growing up. This time in their lives is so fleeting.

This verse above is just a reminder to me today that we should never cease in our praying for our children- no matter how old they are. I know that God has blessed me greatly in my life, and I pray so much that God will bless my children even more, and that they will learn from my mistakes and not make them themselves. I pray that God will fill them with what they need when they need it. That they'll be filled with courage when challenged by their friends. That they'll be filled with humility and graciousness at just the right moments. And most importantly, that they'll be filled with love. That those around them, their friends and teachers, will look at my children and know that there is something different about that child. A something that makes them want to know more.

Children are true treasures from God. There is nothing more precious to me than the two little lives that God has placed in my care. I pray that God keeps it up- because so far they're two fantastic little people, and I just love being around them. I pray that never changes.
